Driver Independent Contractor Agreement

Last updated: July 24, 2026. By submitting a driver application and accepting delivery assignments through Good Food Good Feels, you agree to the terms of this agreement.

1. Independent Contractor Status

You (“Driver”) are an independent contractor, not an employee of Good Food Good Feels (“GFGF”). You are free to accept or decline any delivery assignment. You are responsible for all taxes on income you earn through the platform.

2. California Proposition 22

GFGF complies with Proposition 22. The flat $10 delivery fee is structured to include both your base delivery pay and California Prop 22 earnings compliance, based on GFGF’s delivery distance parameters. GFGF also provides healthcare subsidy eligibility, occupational accident insurance, and anti-discrimination protections consistent with Prop 22 requirements.

3. Driver Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Hold a valid California driver’s license
  • Maintain valid auto insurance meeting California minimum requirements
  • Own or have legal right to operate your delivery vehicle
  • Maintain a smartphone with a modern browser to access the GFGF Driver Dashboard
  • Comply with all applicable traffic laws and health regulations

4. How Deliveries Work

When online in your Driver Dashboard, orders are automatically assigned to you based on your proximity and rating. Navigate to the restaurant, pick up the order, deliver it to the customer, collect the 4-digit confirmation code, and enter it in your Driver Dashboard to complete the delivery.

5. Compensation

Drivers earn a flat $10 per completed delivery — and we’re proud of it. That $10 is structured to include both your base delivery pay and California Prop 22 earnings compliance. Thanks to GFGF’s driver-friendly pay structure and delivery distance parameters, the overwhelming majority of drivers will never see a gap between their $10 earnings and Prop 22 requirements. Payout options include instant transfer to a connected debit card or standard bank deposit — your choice.

6. Your Responsibilities

  • Treat customers and restaurant staff with courtesy and professionalism
  • Not consume, tamper with, or damage any customer order
  • Not deliver while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Immediately report any accidents or safety concerns to GFGF

7. Undelivered Orders & Financial Responsibility

Once you pick up an order, you are entrusted with food the customer has already paid for. If you pick up an order and then fail to deliver it to the customer — including by going offline, becoming unreachable, or otherwise abandoning the delivery after pickup — you are financially responsible for that order.

In that case: (a) you forfeit the $10 delivery fee for that order; and (b) you are liable to GFGF for the value of the undelivered order — the amount GFGF must refund the customer, including food, taxes, and fees. GFGF may recover this amount by withholding or deducting it from your current or future delivery earnings, and/or by charging a payment method you have authorized. GFGF determines whether an order was delivered from its delivery records, including whether the 4-digit confirmation code was entered, whether a valid drop-off was recorded, and your location and online status. If you believe a charge was made in error, you may appeal within 7 days of the charge by emailing GFGF at the address in Section 10; collection is paused while your appeal is open, and we will review the delivery record.

This is your responsibility as an independent contractor for goods entrusted to you, and is separate from your compensation under Section 5. A first and second undelivered order each result in this charge and a written warning; a third undelivered order results in this charge and deactivation of your driver account under Section 8. GFGF reserves the right to change this policy at any time; changes take effect when posted to this page.

8. Deactivation

GFGF may deactivate your account for fraudulent activity, repeated failed deliveries, tampering with orders, harassment, or any conduct posing a safety risk. GFGF will not deactivate for reasons prohibited by Prop 22.

9. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in San Luis Obispo County.
